2008 Amused Moose Hot Starlet

I know what you’re thinking. Why is there a sixteen-year gap between achievements? That’s the kind of thing employers usually ask about on CVs.
Well, I started performing stand-up comedy in 2007 and spent five years gigging around the UK comedy circuit before taking a break in 2012 to focus on writing.
In 2008, I was hand-selected to take part in the Amused Moose Hot Starlet show at the Edinburgh Fringe alongside acts including Katherine Ryan, Joe Lycett and Josh Widdicombe. I am also the only comic from that lineup who didn’t become massively famous — a fact I remain extremely proud of.
“Hilarious.” — Mark Simmons (Mock the Week)
During my break from stand-up, I spent over a decade working in screenwriting, script consultancy and story development. I became a multi-optioned screenwriter, worked as a hired ghostwriter, and developed a slightly unhealthy obsession with storytelling structure along the way.
In 2022, I returned to stand-up comedy and quickly remembered why I loved it in the first place: the strange joy of standing in front of a room full of strangers and somehow all agreeing to laugh at the same thing.
Since returning, I’ve performed two solo shows to sold-out audiences around Australia. My first show, The Same Size Hands as Helen Mirren, was turned into a comedy special which is available to watch on YouTube.
“Refreshingly real, joyfully relatable, and very entertaining.” — Stage Whispers ★★★★
My new show, An Englishman in a Baseball Cap, will tour the Australian comedy festival circuit in 2026/27, with planned performances in Sydney, Geelong, Adelaide and Brisbane.
Alongside performing, I’m now also beginning to focus on directing stand-up comedy shows and running storytelling masterclasses for performers.
